Mr. Woody Yip

Director of Children Unique Child Psychological and Sports Development Center

Woody Yip Yik-hong is the Founder of Children Unique – Centre for Child Psychology and Sports Development, a practicing Counselling Psychologist, and a former Hong Kong Elite Karate Athlete.

Leveraging his unique expertise in psychology, education, and sports, Mr. Yip holds multiple professional roles. He currently serves as a Course Lecturer at HKU SPACE and a Course Instructor at the Institute of Special Needs and Inclusive Education (ISNIE) at The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK). In the past, he contributed his expertise as a former Primary School Manager. In the sports field, he is an accredited Level 2 Coach under both the Hong Kong Karate Federation and the Hong Kong Coaching Committee. Additionally, he holds certificates as an Advanced Personal Fitness Trainer and in Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT).

Vision and Contribution:

This core belief led me to found Children Unique—Centre for Child Psychology and Sports Development, where we are dedicated to integrating psychological and physical interventions to support children and adolescents in achieving their full potential."

"Leveraging my background as a former elite karate athlete and a counselling psychologist, and working with various experts—including physical coaches, educational specialists, clinical psychologists, and physiotherapists—we facilitate profound interdisciplinary cooperation."

Mr. Yip actively contributes to professional training and academic research:

"I am deeply committed to institutional cooperation. In terms of training, I teach courses for coaches focusing on Special Educational Needs (SEN) at The Education University of Hong Kong and assist with supervising student practicum programs at Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU), providing invaluable hands-on experience for aspiring professionals."

"In the research domain, I assist university studies investigating the impact of sports interventions on primary school students with Special Educational Needs, contributing to the advancement of knowledge in this vital field."
